The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Chennai has convicted Shri Rajesh Kataria, then Managing Director & his firm M/s Kataria Exports, Chennai and three officers of Dena Bank i.e. Shri M.V. Venkata Krishnan, then Branch Manager; V. Ramasamy, then Branch Manager; Shri T.R.V. Dixit, then Chief Manager for causing a loss ofRs.2,71,44,564/- to the Bank. The Trial Court sentenced Shri Rajesh Kataria, then Managing Director to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.10 Lakh and other three bank officers to undergo six months Imprisonment with fine of Rs.30,000/- each. A fine of Rs. 50,000/- was also imposed on M/s Kataria Exports, Chennai(a private firm).
