Mann Public School, Delhi celebrated its 26th Celebration of Excellence on the 29th 0f November, 2014 spreading the colours and charm of festivity all over. Maj. Gen. B.S. Das, SM, VSM Inspector General (OPS), National Security Guard, Delhi presided over the Celebration of Excellence (2014) . The chief guest hoisted the school flag and took the salute at a smartly turned out march-past by the students which included NCC contingents of armoured and air wings. Dinesh Modak, school vice-captain, commanded the parade. Cdr. VK Banga (Retd.), Principal, welcomed the chief guest and delivered the annual report of the school highlighting its notable achievements throughout the year. The school band presented a spell bound performance followed by 90 Mapsomuse (school orchestra) performing classical and western composition of Musical Vibration & Musical Radiation composed by the music teacher, Mr. S. Shukla, thrilling feats of gymnastics topped by exhilarating skills of horse- riding by boys and girls which included the breath-taking exploit of diving through the raging flames of the fire-ring. The cultural show, presented by vibrant Mapsians presented moral packed choreography on the golden dream of all the citizens of India i.e, Swachch Bharat. MANNOSA (Mann Public School Old Students Association), led by Mr. Sugreev S Kihna, secretary, kept up the tradition of taking active interest in the school and requested the chief guest to honour long serving members of the faculty and karamcharis. The chief guest gave away prizes to the winners of various competitions held throughout the year. The coveted BK Sood Principal Award of Excellence for the all-round best student of the year was won by Master IrfanNabi and Ms. EstherLalmuankimi Rivung. Other best of the year awardees were: horse-riding, boy -IrfanNabi, and girl - Esther Lalmuankimi Rivung; gymnastics- Mohit Khatri; football (KesheyPanjwani Trophy)- Pisa Ror; best athlete -Pisa Ror, best sportspersons, boy -Pisa Ror and girl, Parul Chauhan In his address to the audience, Maj. General B.S. Das emphasized on the value of equality, integrity and sovereignty as important elements needed to develop a nation. He praised the life of a boarding school as it inculcates an overall development among the students and make them capable enough to take the challenges of future. In the message to children, he pointed towards four aspects, which children must possess i.e. honesty, hard work, perseverance and positivity. |
