The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Sub-Inspector of Delhi Police posted at Crime against Women Cell in the DCP East Office, New Delhi for demanding & accepting an alleged bribe of Rs.10,000/- from theComplainant. A case was registered on a complaint alleging that the Sub Inspector was demanding a bribe. It was also learnt that the SI was allegedly threatening the Complainant to get her bail cancelled in a criminal case against the latter. CBI laid a trap and the Sub Inspector was arrested while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.10,000/-from the Complainant. Searches have been conducted at her residence at Ghaziabad(Uttar Pradesh). The arrested accused will be produced tomorrow before the Designated Court at Delhi. In another case, CBI has arrested a Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Bankhedi, District Hoshangabad(M.P.) for demanding & accepting an alleged bribe of Rs.6,000/-. A case was registered on the basis of a complaint. It was alleged that the Branch Manager, Punjab National Bank, Bankhedi, District Hoshangabad(M.P.) was demanding a bribe of Rs.6,000/-for sanctioning housing loan and disbursement of the second instalment of the loan so sanctioned. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.6000/- through middleman from the Complainant. The middleman was also arrested. Searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused. Both the arrested accused were produced today before the Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal and remanded to three days Police Custody.Further investigation in both the cases is continuing |
