The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a chargesheet against
then Minister of Revenue, Land Reforms & Co-operatives, Govt. of
Jharkhand U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of Prevention Corruption of Act, 1988
for possession of alleged assets disproportionate to his known sources
of income to the extent of Rs.1,03,04,547/-(approx) during the period
10.03.2005 to 01.09.2009.
A case was registered against the ex-MLA and then Minister of Revenue, Land Reforms & Co-operatives, Govt. of Jharkhand U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 on the orders of the Jharkhand High Court. It was alleged that the said accused was in possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of Income. During investigation, it was found that the alleged assets acquired by accused during said period were in the form of plots, vehicles, bank balance, Fixed Deposits etc. in his own name and in the name of his family members. After thorough investigation, CBI filed a chargesheet in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Ranchi (Jharkhand). The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian Law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial. |
