Palika Girls Hostel INAUGURATION
Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Hon’ble Union Minister of Women & Child Development today inaugurated Palika Girls Hostel at Netaji Nagar at a simple function, this evening.

Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament & Member-NDMC preside over the function. Shri Jalaj Shrivastava, Chairman-NDMC, Shri Karan Singh Tanwar, Vice-Chairperson-NDMC and Shri Nikhil Kumar, Secretary, NDMC besides a large number of students were also present on this occasion.

The girls hostel have been started in the existing building of NDMC’s women technical institute (WTI), Netaji Nagar at a renovation cost of Rs.50 lakh. It consists of three rooms and a kitchen. The hostel is in dormitory style having 50 beds with all basic amenities.

Speaking on the occasion, Smt.Maneka Sanjay Gandhi appreciated the NDMC initiative and said that it is an imaginative scheme.

She further said that she will soon introduce a scheme of women-cab and auto-drivers. She said that she has been assured by NDMC chairman Shri Jalaj Shrivastava that such women can get training at Women Technical Institute, Netaji Nagar.

Meenakshi Lekhi, said that the Government institution like NDMC should dedicate itself to parenting such needy girls towards a dignified life.

 Jalaj Shrivastava, Chairman NDMC informed that the brilliant girls students studying in NDMC and other school in Delhi, who do not have any place to stay for further studies in Delhi will be accommodated in this hostel which is the first of its kind and some more such hostels to follow.
