The incidents of cell phone snatchings and burglaries were reported in South District.  In these incidents laptops, cell phones, cash and jewelryof victims had been targeted.  During analysis, it was learnt that the gang is stayingsomewhere in nearby area because no vehicle was used in commission of any of the crime and criminals had disappeared easily after committing the crime.  Around 10 incidents of burglaries and thefts were reported in the area of Malviya Nagar only.  It was also learnt through sources that the gang was especially targeting women who move around the area.

 Investigation :

         In order identify and arrest the criminals involved in such criminal activities, a joint team of the staff of PS Malviya Nagar and Special Task Force, South District consisting of SI Arvind, SI D.V. Singh, HC Mukesh, Asgar, Vipin, Sanjeev, ManojNeelesh, Vikash, Hanuman, Naveen andSatish was formed under the supervision of Inspr. Vijay Chandel, SHO/Malviya Nagar and Inspr. Rajender Singh, Incharge STF, South District. The team laid traps in the affected areas and developed local intelligence.  The efforts put in revealed that some persons who are staying in the Hauz Rani area are involved in these crime.  Accused persons used to move outside on foot, in group of four persons and commit snatchings and robberies. On a specific input received from a source, the joint team arrested Mohd.Munnawarfrom Jamunwala Park, Hauz Rani and a snatched cell phone was recovered from his possession.  At his instance, his associates namely Ikrammul and Sheikh Ladla were also arrested fromHauz Rani.  On search, 4 snatched / robbed mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

  Interrogation :

          During interrogation, accused persons disclosed that they are hailing from District Katihar, Bihar and since last six months, they are staying in rented premises in Malviya Nagar.  In the day time, they work as shuttering labors at the construction sites and in the late evening, they commit snatchings and burglaries in the nearby areas. 

Accused persons further disclosed to have committed incidents of robbery, snatchings and burglaries including incidents of cell phone snatchings from women including women of foreign national. 

Accused persons used to dispose the stolen articles only to their known and co-villagers and do not sell out any stolen article in Delhi to avoid their arrest by police. All the receivers of stolen property have been identified, efforts are being made to arrest them.  The criminal group which is led by Ladla@Bullet consists of Firoz, Mustafa, Sameer, Niroj, Sheikh Chilli, Zuber, Pappu, Israil, Fariya is active in the area.  These persons are still absconding. Efforts are being made to arrest the remaining accused persons and to recover more case property.
