A case was registered against an Assistant Divisional Finance Manager, N. F. Railway, Lumding Division on the basis of a complaint alleging that the accused was withholding of his pending bills for Rs. 16.00 lacs for the work of “Preparation of Meals at NGC Running Room” for the period from September, 2012 to May, 2013 due to non-payment of bribe money @ 0.5% as commission to the accused. The accused officer directed the peon who was on his orderly duty to receive the bribe amount of Rs.5,000/- from the complainant. CBI laid a trap and the peon was caught red handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs.5000/- from the Complainant on behalf of the accused. The Assistant Divisional Finance Manager was also arrested.

            Both the arrested accused are being produced today before the Competent Court.
